Linda Liukas is a Finnish programmer, storyteller and illustrator. Her children’s book “Hello Ruby” was financed by the most successful Kickstarter campaign ever. Her book aims to teach children the art of programming in a playful, easy-to-understand manner. Liukas is convinced that programming is set to become the most important language of the 21st century, and this was her motivation for founding the Rails Girls movement that has enabled young women in more than 260 cities around the world to acquire skills in programming. In 2013, the European Commission awarded Linda Liukas the title of “Digital Champion of Finland” and she is among the top 50 European women in technology.
